Vincenza Ferraro

Vincenza Ferraro is employed as a bilingual community health worker with Adelaide Central Community Health Service, Enfield, South Australia.

During her twelve years with the health service, her major work has been with women's health, predominantly Italian women, the Italo- Australian community, the aged, the homeless, the Aboriginal community. She is also a member of the Italian Meals on Wheels Steering Committee. Vincenza has focussed on health promotion, illness prevention, and carers' issues, and advocacy for people of diverse language and culture.

Her past work has includesd: Pharmacy Assistant, General Practitioner's Assistant, Interpreter-translator with the Education Department, clerical/information officer at the Department of Social Security, Office and Social Administrator at ANFE.

She is also involved with voluntary work that includes: the Co-ordinating Italian Committee welfare sub committee, the Glynde Senior Citizen (Italian), the Women's Suffrage Project, and as a telephone counsellor at Life-line.
